Free to Be Me

by Daniela Reiser

My project today was to go and observe Vancouver's fashion"able" people and see if it's true that we are in the top ten of the worst dressed cities in the world.

Let's consider it was a hot  summer day and a lot of people were caught wearing tank tops, flip flops and back packs, however we do seem to be lazy when it comes to dressing up here in Vancouver, the yoga pant syndrome, the constant casual black stretchy pant in every length that goes with any top and any flip flop.... However I do believe that there are different trends going on in the city that I have observed and am going to blog about. Besides the downtown core business people in their suits, there were several people that stood out to me and I did find fashionABLE people after all. I myself love the casual yoga or work-out wear, it's simple, easy and comfortable, but you can become too comfortable and start making it into an everyday attire, which may be the reason why we have such a bad reputation when it comes to fashion. So if we want to change our reputation keep the yoga pants for yoga and start to dress up! It's not that hard just express yourself with clothes that you like, by all means it does not have to follow every trend nor be high end brand names but something that makes you feel free to be you!

Prepare to stop (wearing yoga pants :-) and change, first of all I did some window shopping to see how stores market their products....

The colour I kept on noticing was yellow, I never was really into yellow but now owning several yellow items myself I have started to really like it. Same goes for coral or neon colours which were very popular in shoes.
